He shoots! He scores!
Technology is getting everywhere and, with the World Cup underway, it's no surprise to hear of the launch of what's being called the first intelligent, app enabled football.
The adidas miCoach Smart Ball features a six axis MEMS sensor suspended within it. Data collected from the sensor is streamed via Bluetooth to a tablet or smartphone. Players and coaches can then work to improve the way in which the ball is kicked.
Apparently, players can learn how to alter their kicking technique to, for example, bend free kicks, launch knuckle balls and generate more shot power.
Would it help England's footballers to find the net from the penalty spot? If it can, perhaps there's time for an emergency shipment to Brazil.
