Around 130,000 people are being monitored in real time by a system developed by a London company, Status Today, called Isaak.
Isaak is the latest example of a growing trend that uses AI to manage people in what is described as the ‘precision economy’.
According to users, it helps identify staff who are collaborative or ‘influencers’, however critics fear it will create distrust, especially if there is only limited transparency as to how and where it is being used.
Status Today, promises “real-time insights into each employee and their position within the organisational network”.
Workers do not automatically have a right to see the data, and there’s a worry that it will simply increase pressure on workers.
If you’re not typing or logged on people will be deemed to be not working.
