Queen’s Awards winners announced
More than 150 companies have been recognised in the latest Queen's Awards for Enterprise - the UK's most prestigious awards to business. Of these, 27 have been recognised for innovation.
Winning one of the awards - international trade, innovation or sustainable development - is not easy. To win an innovation award, for example, winners must have demonstrated a substantial improvement in their business through outstanding innovation continued over at least two years; or continuous innovation and development over at least five years.
The standard of entries this year was high, with 25% of entrants winning an Award. And it's not just the big companies that win: 14 winners have 10 employees or fewer; 133 have fewer than 250 employees.
So congratulations to all this year's winners, including CFRS, CommAgility, ETL Systems, Global Ink Jet Systems, Marshall Specialist Vehicles, McLaren Electronic Systems, SPTS Technologies and Wood & Douglas.
