Silica has launched a series of SpeedWay design workshops, featuring the recently released, Xilinx Spartan-6 fpga LX9 MicroBoard.
Combining instructor led courses with hands on workshops, these full or half day technical sessions feature a range of topics designed to teach engineers everything from the basics of fpga design to best practices for integrating Xilinx's MicroBlaze soft processor core.
The UK workshop will explore the process of developing software for MicroBlaze within the Xilinx Software Development Kit (SDK) environment. Through lectures and hands on labs, visitors will learn all the steps to get a MicroBlaze software application running on the Spartan-6 MicroBoard. Starting with a pre built MicroBlaze hardware platform, participants will create BSPs, develop applications, profile an application's cpu usage and interface to a custom developed hardware peripheral with driver.
In addition to understanding the complete front to back Xilinx SDK software development flow, students will also examine first hand the advantages that an fpga based processor system provides.
