LED and SSL; Photometry and Colorimetry Course 2010

A comprehensive theory and practise course presenting the challenges of measuring light and colour. For those designing LED luminaires and other light sources. This course covers concepts such as measurement of total light output, examines accuracy, total light output as a function of angle, measurement of LED colour and colour rendering. The course also deals with goniophotometry, spectroradiometry and compilation of LDT and IES files. Topics include: •Basic concepts of light and the human visual system •Optical properties of materials •Photometry and colorimetry •Spectroradiometry, goniophotometry •Choosing the right equipment •The measurement challenges of LEDs and SSL There is an optional practical session on 19 thNovember, from 09:00 - 12:00.
