The PTVS1-240C-M is a bidirectional diode that protects electrical systems from high-voltage transients and electrostatic discharge (ESD). The PTVS1-240C-M is designed for high-power DC bus protection and clamping applications, ideal for industrial power systems, energy storage systems, and factory automation.
The Bourns PTVS1-240C-M, now available at Mouser, is one of the industry's first bidirectional power TVS diodes in a space-saving surface mount package. The diode delivers a maximum breakdown voltage of 295V, a repetitive standoff voltage of 240V, and a precise clamping voltage of 340V. The PTVS1-240C-M series protects against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and high current surges, with a 1kA surge handling capability under 8/20μs test conditions. With a stable voltage breakdown sensitivity over temperature of 0.1% per °C, engineers can accurately predict how the diode will behave in different environments.
The low-leakage PTVS1-240C-M TVS diode consumes just 10 µA when on standby. Housed in a compact surface-mountable package, it reduces the PCB footprint compared with traditional through-hole-mounted power TVS diodes. The PTVS1-240C-M is UL497B certified, meets IEC 61000-4-5 standard specifications, and is RoHS compliant.
