Priming the design pump
STMicroelectronics has added another device to its Primer range of prototyping devices.
The STM32 Primer2, about the size of a mobile phone, comes with a 128 x 160pixel colour touchscreen, a joystick/push button, extension connector and preloaded sample applications. There is also a built in USB port, a MicroSD card slot, along with an accelerometer and an infrared transmitter/receiver.

The first STM32 Primer was introduced in 2007 and more than 10,000 units have been shipped since then. Primer2 offers a larger screen, touch sensing and a lithium ion battery.
Primers come with the Raisonance Ride7 application development software and the GNU C compiler. This allows embedded designers to use the platform for complete development of complex end products.
