30V PowerTrench mosfet could save up to 66% board space
The 3.3 x 3.3mm form factor of Fairchild Semiconductor's FDMC8010 30V Power 33 mosfet could save power supply designers up to 66% board space.
Using PowerTrench technology, the FDMC8010 is suited for applications where the lowest RDS(ON) is required, including high performance dc/dc buck converters, point of load (POL), high efficiency load switch and low side switching, voltage regulator modules (VRM), and ORing functions.
The company says that in isolated 1/16th brick dc/dc converter applications, the Power 33 mosfet's max RDS(ON) of 1.3mΩ is 25% less than competing solutions. The device also reduces conduction losses and improves thermal efficiency by up to 25%.
