Acquisition strengthens Avnet’s presence in Far East
Avnet has launched a tender offer for Unidux, an electronics components distributor primarily serving Japanese OEMs.
Unidux distributes components from suppliers such as Intel and Micron Technology and Avnet forecasts that the acquisition would immediately add to its earnings by expanding its presence in the Japanese market.
With operations in Japan, Hong Kong and China, Unidux distributes active and passive components from suppliers such as Fujitsu, Panasonic, Sharp and Toshiba.

"The Unidux business will add complementary customers and suppliers while tripling Avnet Electronics Marketing business in Japan.
