Acquisition strengthens custom power solution ability

Power supply specialist Powerbox has acquired German power supply manufacturer Eplax. The move is said to strengthen Powerbox’s ability to supply custom power solutions to the industrial, medical, railway/transportation and defence markets.

“We are thrilled by this acquisition,” said Martin Sjöstrand, Powerbox’s CEO. “Powerbox and Eplax have a long history in serving some of the world’s most demanding industries with high quality customised power solutions, bringing simplicity into complex power applications.”

The two companies boast more than 80 years of combined expertise, during which time they have delivered more than 3500 custom solutions worldwide. Eplax specialises in robust and energy efficient optimisation, with a portfolio that includes standard products for rack type applications.

“The previous partnership between Powerbox and Eplax has shown that the combined competences and assets have been valued by our common customers,” said Andreas Mielke, Eplax co owner. “Together, we offer the marketplace leading technical and cost optimised solutions. I’m convinced that with our sales presence, strong R&D capability and standard portfolio, we can jointly exploit the full potential of our capabilities.”
