Alexander named CTO of Keysight
Jay Alexander will assume the role of chief technology officer for Keysight Technologies later this year. Keysight will be the new trading name for Agilent's Electronic Measurement Group as from August 2014.
"We looked inside and outside our company for someone who not only knows technology, but who has led a business organisation and therefore understands business issues as well," said Keysight's President and CEO Ron Nersesian. "Jay has a strong R&D background, is highly respected in the industry and has helped drive key growth and profit increases in the company."
In his new position, Alexander will lead Keysight's technology development, drive its product roadmap, and manage the company's resource allocation across divisions to transform Keysight's portfolio to proactively meet customers' needs.
He joined Hewlett-Packard in 1986 and has since held a number of positions within Agilent's Electronic Measurement Group, most recently as general manager of the Oscilloscope and Protocol Division.
