Anritsu releases next generation ACCESS Master otdr
Anritsu has released an upgraded version of its handheld MT9083 ACCESS Master optical time domain reflectometer (otdr), which it says provides all the tools needed for the installation and maintenance of networks in a rugged, field portable package.
The new otdr features an enlarged 7in TFT display designed to offer readability in direct sunlight along with shortcut function keys to simplify operation.
The company says the device's optical performance has also been improved and now features up to 150,000 data points for accurate mapping of events and deadzones of less than 1m, as well as a dynamic range up to 46dB to ensure accurate and complete fibre evaluation of any network type.
With a reduced weight of 2.6kg, the new device is said to achieve a battery life of up to 12hours.
