ARM will take any plans by Intel to make chips for rivals 'very seriously'
ARM Holdings says it will take 'very seriously' any plans by Intel to make chips for rivals, according to Reuters.
Last week Intel announced that it would consider producing chip cores based on its own architecture for other companies, a move that could help it establish a greater role in the mobile device market and one that could pose a threat to ARM's dominance in the tablet and smartphone sector.
Ian Drew, pictured, ARM's marketing executive vice president, told Reuters: "It's important that Intel makes a change in their business model. Intel has never done this before, so we have to take it very seriously."
