austriamicrosystems to be carbon neutral by 2015?
austriamicrosystems has announced plans to reach carbon neutral status by 2015.
The analogue IC specialist says it has already halved its carbon footprint since 2004 and now plans to further reduce CO2 emission by more than 9000tonnes. This, says the company, can be achieved by switching to 100% green electricity, primarily based on water generated sources.
"We are proud to announce that we are making significant progress towards the zero carbon footprint goal we have set for the company," said austriamicrosystems' ceo John Heugle, pictured. "Investments into energy savings, sustainable energy projects and CO2 reduction programs not only help our environment, but also provide significant economic advantages to us which create benefits to our customers."
