Auto developers get supercomputer access
Automotive Simulation Center Stuttgart, an innovative public-private partnership aimed at advancing the automobile industry through high performance computing, has been established at the University of Stuttgart.
Composed of software designers, scientists and researchers, and leading automobile manufacturers, ASCS will provide access to leading edge supercomputing technologies, allowing them to research low pollution vehicles, products that reduce fuel consumption, lower CO2 emissions and safety.
Founder members of ASCS include the University of Stuttgart, the Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines Stuttgart, Porsche, Daimler and Opel.
