These high-end modules feature significant gains in computing and graphics performance and, according to Avnet, due to the new processor architecture and advanced 10nm process technology they provide a good balance between performance and power consumption.
The module is suitable for use in deterministic Ethernet networks. Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and Intel Time Coordinated Computing (Intel TCC) are both supported to meet timing and low latency requirements under hard real-time conditions. Designed for harsh conditions, the module family is intended for use in both the industrial space or in outdoor installations. The module can operate in an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and offers full 24/7 capability, based on 11th Gen Intel Core processor variants that are specified for extended operational conditions.
The product family is resistant to shock and vibration, the memory devices are soldered to the board. Avnet Integrated can also provide the MSC C6C-TLU modules with conformal coating to reliably protect against environmental stress such as contaminants and moisture.
Combined with SDKs like the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit, these features make the module family suitable for high-end applications such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Industrial IoT (IIoT) based systems, high-performance medical devices, professional audio/video equipment, innovative control systems and intelligent camera solutions.
A broad range of design tools including starter kit and board support package are available from Avnet, as well as comprehensive services such as design-in support and carrier design review. All embedded modules are developed by Avnet Integrated in its own Technology Campuses and manufactured in-house in highly automated production facilities. The new MSC C6C-TLU module family is scheduled for long life availability from product launch.
