Backlight contract opens US door
Electroluminescent display developer Pelikon is to supply backlights for a satellite radio remote control being developed by a major US service provider, The remote control is being developed by United Electronics, which has worked with Pelikon for the last five years.
“With all the control and display functionality focused entirely in the remote control,” said Max Shone, Pelikon’s marketing manager, “it was critical for the backlight solution to offer an elegant look and feel. Pelikon’s pSEL Backlite offered just the right hues and (this) represents an important win in the consumer electronics arena.”
“By using Pelikon’s pSEL Backlite technology to add a quality finish to the product, we are able to meet and exceed our customers’ needs,” says Ramzi Ammari, vice president of product development at UEI.
