Battery demand to soar
Total demand for small single use batteries, as well as rechargeable devices and supercapacitors, is predicted to reach $95million in 2019, according to a report published by IDTechEx.
According to the company, emerging markets such as energy harvesting and wireless sensor networks will create the need for new technologies, including the supercabattery – a combination of battery and supercapacitor in one structure. Other technologies addressed include biobatteries and magnetic spin batteries.
