Body powered EEG system
A two channel EEG system, developed by the Holst Centre as part of the Human ++ program, is powered by heat dissipated by the body. The autonomous system, integrated into a headband, needs no battery power.
The device features a low power dsp block, which extracts the EEG and sends it to a host pc over a 2.4GHz wireless link. According to the developers, the system consumes just 0.8mW.
The Holst Centre is a joint venture between Belgian research centre IMEC and the Dutch organisation TNO.
