CES 2012: Intersil processor addresses affordable, high end audio performance
1 min read
Intersil has introduced its new high performance, cost efficient D2Audio DAE-3HT 12channel digital sound processor and amplifier controller at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) in Las Vegas.
Intersil D2Audio will be demonstrating its Digital Audio Engine sound processor and amp technologies throughout the event.
According to Intersil, the DAE-3HT has been designed specifically to provide high quality audio to price sensitive sound bars and Blu-ray home theatre systems. It accepts up to eight digital input channels and supports up to 12 PWM output signals for driving Class D power stages. The SoC has four I2S inputs, one I2S output, S/PDIF input/output I2C port and SPI port.
The DAE-3HT is compatible with Audio Canvas III, Intersil's design tool for developing custom audio path configurations, including support for D2Audio SoundSuite audio path configurations and virtualisations. Intersil states that the 12 PWM outputs each provide overall exceptional audio performance driving both powered and line outputs.
Several docking stations are expected to be launched using D2Audio solutions throughout 2012.
