Collaboration promises ‘optimum’ human-machine experience

Renesas Electronics America and Immersion Corporation are collaborating on a touch sense device said to enhance user experiences by integrating rich haptic feedback in product designs.
The collaboration is designed to address a demand for better user experiences, and to enable the development of next generation human/machine interfaces.
The new solution integrates Immersion's TouchSense technology, a high fidelity programmable haptic feedback using a modular approach based on Renesas Electronics' mcus.
Touch screen usage models include simple button clicks, differentiated button haptics, or haptics for scroll lists and gestures, restoring the 'feel' to the 'seamless' interface. Renesas' mcus are designed to produce high fidelity haptic systems.
