Connectivity modules support 2.4 and 5GHz Wi-Fi
Looking to help engineers add Wi-Fi and dual mode Bluetooth to their embedded designs, Texas Instruments has announced the WiLink 8 family of connectivity modules.
The devices support Wi-Fi in the 2.4 and 5GHz bands. They offer high throughput and an extended industrial temperature range, and are suitable for applications such as home and building automation, smart energy, wireless audio and wearables.
"The new WiLink 8 certified modules offer easy access to development tools, software and support for many different industrial and consumer applications," said Amichai Ron, general manager of wireless connectivity solutions for TI.
The devices and software are compatible and pre-integrated with many processors, including TI's Sitara processors.
They are said to require less hardware and RF design experience, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth software stacks. Sample applications are provided and the modules are FCC/IC/ETSI certified.
