Cyan technology fits the bill
Cyan says it has received a Letter of Credit supporting an order from Chinese company South West Computer for 100,000 microcontrollers.
The devices will be used in a wireless utility meter reading system designed by Cyan in association with a new manufacturing partner. The first deliveries in May will total 30,000 chips, with further deliveries scheduled on a monthly cycle. Monthly shipment volumes are expected to increase in the second half of 2008 and continue throughout 2009.
Kenn Lamb, Cyan’s ceo, pictured, said: “We believe this initial order demonstrates the effectiveness of Cyan’s RF-Solved product. I am excited by the potential of this new partnership to develop, manufacture and sell high volumes of electronic products based on Cyan’s application software and microcontrollers.”
The two companies entered a partnership agreement in October 2007, under which Cyan provides design expertise and microcontroller technology for a range of products to be manufactured and sold by South West Computer.
