Analog Devices has announced a new high performance integrated rf demodulator which it claims delivers 'industry leading' performance.
The ADRF6801 RF demodulator has been designed to perform multiple rf functions while delivering the performance required to support high dynamic range receivers in next generation communications systems.
According to ADI, the device is suitable for rfid systems, cellular base stations, satellite communications and ISM band applications operating in the 900MHz frequency range.
The device integrates ADI's fractional-N phase locked loop pll synthesiser and low phase noise voltage controlled oscillator with a high dynamic range demodulator. It includes an rf balun, three low dropout regulators, and the necessary baseband buffer amplifiers. Operating over a frequency range from 750 to 1150MHz, the ADRF6801 demodulator features a noise figure of 14.3dB, input IP3 of 25dBm, and a P1dB of 12.5 dBm. The ADRF6801 supports the SPI/I2C serial interface for PLL programming and the device provides the option of selecting between an external local oscillator source or an internally generated LO signal.
