Design contest unveiled at Embedded World

Lantronix has launched a competition for design engineers based on its Xport Pro embedded Ethernet networking module.
The contest is open to individuals with an interest in network technology, from students to design contractors. There is no limit to the number of entries and Lantronix will be awarding prizes of $6000 and $3000 to the top two entries – with a separate prize of $3000 for the best student Linux design.
Xport Pro incorporates 32bit processing power and has been designed to handle multiple applications. Lantronix' design contest has been created to showcase the diverse applications that can be developed with the device. Daryl Miller, vp engineering at Lantronix, said: "The student entries also add a fresh perspective of using network technology. The interest and passion shown by past contestants makes participating in these events a highlight of my job and we're excited to present the Lintux community with a powerful tool to Web enable almost any device in a fraction of the typical time."
Entries must be submitted by 6 August 2010 and winners will be announced on 23 September.
