Display platform upgrades the user interface and product functionality

Called DX2, the device features an OMAP DM3730 based computer running either Linux or Windows Compact 7. Device designers can select either 5.7in vga or 7in wvga industrial grade tfts, both offered with an integral four wire resistive touchscreen. The company says DX2 is available in open frame or non assembled versions. The DX2 is powered by a fanless single board computer. The DM3730 processor features dual cores – an ARM Cortex-A8 running at 1GHz handles OS and application code, while a TMS32006x dsp core handles dedicated video processing. Both 2d and 3d graphics with OpenGL are supported. Multiple interfaces and communication port options are provided, says Anders. Paul Mullen, andersDX' sales director, said the device is a solution for companies who want to get to market quickly, while focusing their resources on the core application. "DX2 offers a lot of functionality in a robust package at a very aggressive price point," he claimed.
