Electronics student’s multimedia router wins Duke of York’s Award
A 16 year old electronics design student from Birmingham has beaten 45 national finalists to win The Duke of York's Award for the creative application of electronics. The award was part of the Young Engineer for Britain national final held at the Big Bang Fair.
Alan Egan, pictured, who attends King Edward VI Camp Hill Boys School in Birmingham, won the took part in the event which took place at the ICC, London ExCel. His winning design was a multimedia router, which facilitates quick and easy routing of multimedia content from various inputs to multiple output destinations using an intuitive colour based interface.
Young Engineer for Britain is funded and supported entirely by industry and professional institutions and is endorsed by Government.
