Electronics Yorkshire broadens membership, rebrands

As part of a move to strengthen its reputation as a national centre for electronics training, Electronics Yorkshire has broadened its membership criteria to allow companies throughout the UK to become full members of its network. Previously, only companies within the Yorkshire and Humber region have been eligible.
As part of this process, the organisation is rebranding itself as EY.
Peter Brooks, chief executive, said: "Our reputation for delivering industry specific training has been growing steadily over the past five years. We already have many affiliated members around the country who benefit from being a part of our network and we are now delighted to be able to accept them as full members. We believe this new approach will attract many of those who see EY as a useful resource and wish to take full advantage of what we provide."
Brooks was keen to point out that the organisation did not want to lose its regional ties. "Rather, we want to expand the reach of our services in order to continue our support of what is one of the most important industrial sectors in the UK."
