Avalue Technology has introduced three new embedded boards based on the next generation Intel Atom processor N2000 and D2000 series and Intel NM10 Express chipset.
According to Avalue, the ECM-CDV, EBM-CDV and EQM-CDV provide low power consumption and high performance.
The newest Intel Atom processor series, formerly codenamed Cedar Trail, is based on Intel's 32nm process technology, and features a two chip platform, integrating the Northbridge chip with cpu and has advanced the Southbridge chip to the higher class. The new two chip solution is designed to provide system builders with supports for slimmer housing designs. Avalue says that the platform brings enhanced performance, energy efficiency, manageability, security functions and smoother visual experiences.
The 3.5in embedded board, ECM-CDV, supports one 204 pin DDR3 SODIMM system memory with up to 4GB capacity. ECM-CDV supports dual channel 18/24bit (24bit is enabled on D2700 only) LVDS (with eDP) and multiple display configurations (CRT+LVDS, HDMI+LVDS or CRT+HDMI). The I/O deployment includes 1 SATA, 2 COM, 7 USB 2.0 and 16bit GPIOs, makes various requirements of embedded applications possible. One audio jack supports Realtek ALC892, 7.1-CH audio. Two Intel 82574L Gigabit LANs and one expansion slot of mini PCIe card (support mSATA) and one CF card slot.
The 5.25in embedded board, EBM-CDV, supports one rank of onboard DDR3 system memory with up to 2GB capacity and one 204pin DDR3 SODIMM system memory with up to 2GB capacity. EBM-CDV supports dual channel 18/24bit (24bit is enabled on D2700 only) LVDS (with eDP) and multiple display configurations (CRT+LVDS, HDMI+LVDS or CRT+HDMI). The rich I/O deployment includes a 1 SATA, 6 COM, 8 USB 2.0 and 16bit GPIOs, makes various requirements of embedded applications possible. One audio jack supports Realtek ALC892, 5.1-CH audio. Two Intel 82574L Gigabit LANs and one expansion slot of mini PCIe card (support mSATA).
The Q7 Module board, EQM-CDV, supports onboard DDR3 system memory with up to 2GB capacity. EQM-CDV supports single-channel 18bit LVDS and HDMI+LVDS display configurations to baseboard. For I/O, includes 2 SATA ports to baseboard, 8 USB 2.0 ports to baseboard, one Intel 82574L Gigabit LANs and three PCIex1.
According to Avalue its Intel Atom processor N2000 and D2000 series boards are able to meet the embedded market requests for low power consumption, and provide a better choice for higher level graphics and system performance. It is suitable for applications that require an embedded board for high performance, multimedia and small form factor, such as POS/KIOSK, digital signage, ordering machine, medical and transportation.
