Embedded World: Adlink acquires LiPPERT

Adlink Technology announced its acquisition of German R&D specialist LiPPERT Embedded Computers at Embedded World, Nuremberg.
The €7million purchase will result in Adlink inheriting around 40 employees with experience in the design and manufacture of embedded pc systems for rugged environments.
Edgar Chen, Adlink's sales director EMEA, believes that by leveraging LiPPERT's design methodology and process, it will improve the quality of Adlink's embedded pc products and enable them to suit a range of environmental critical markets. "The acquisition will strengthen Adlink's postion with respect to production, costs, market development and product comprehensiveness," he said. "LiPPERT's technical team will enable us to provide better support to our customers in Europe and increase our global market share in module computing. Our price competitiveness is also enhanced by the fact that we have our own production facility in China."
Adlink has appointed Peter Lippert as vice president in charge of the Global Module Computing Product Segment.
