Engineering initiative creates application focused design tool portfolio
In a move aimed at helping designers get new products to market in a timely manner, Silica has launched ArchiTech – an engineering initiative that has been created to provide a single point of contact for all requirements related to design tools.
According to Silica, ArchiTech brings together robust development tools, engineering and software expertise, in depth training and extensive documentation.
Oliver Staude, a regional application manager for Silica and one of those involved in developing the ArchiTech concept, said: "We are always looking at what customers need for their next designs. ArchiTech will be a good way for designers to get hold of boards which suppliers aren't building."
Among the first boards developed by the 15 strong ArchiTech team is the Pengwyn board (pictured), based on TI's AM3354 ARM Cortex-A8 microprocessor. According to Silica, it will release 15 solutions this year and Staude noted these will allow customers to develop application processing, rfid, fpga and microcontroller based products.
