Building on demand for its traditional moulded inductors, Abracon has expanded its moulded inductor technology and developed sub-3mm inductors which, despite their compact size, can still deliver the performance associated with their larger counterparts.
Farnell Supplier Account Manager and Abracon specialist, Euan Gilligan, said, “The mini-moulded inductors deliver all the benefits of traditional moulded inductors, including superior EMI shielding, high power density, and low core losses, despite their small size. The benefit is that these inductors effectively mitigate unwanted EMI, handle significant power loads, and exhibit low core losses, thereby ensuring enhanced signal integrity, space efficiency, and improved energy efficiency in electronic circuits.”
By migrating the power of its moulded inductor technology to smaller package sizes, Abracon is looking to address the changing needs of the electronics industry.
For example, Abracon's AOTA Series is highly suited to IoT, machine-to-machine, secure car access, item tracking, indoor navigation and other connected applications. They are also an alternative to traditional resin-shielded or multi-layer inductors, offering higher performance at a lower cost in a smaller size.
The AOTA Series inductors are available from Farnell in 1.4mm x 1.2mm to 2.5mm x 2.0mm package sizes with a maximum height as low as 0.65mm to support small and low-profile designs.
These inductors come with inductance values from .11 to 10 µH with low DCR, low core losses and saturation current up to 14.5 amps to support significant power loads and high-power density requirements.
All Abracon AOTA Series inductors are now available and shipping from Farnell in EMEA.
