Freescale has named four tools as featured integrated development environments (IDEs) for its Kinetis range of ARM based microcontrollers. The tools are Atollic TrueSTUDIO, IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, Green Hills' MULTI and ARM's Keil range.
"Freescale's commercial tools strategy for Kinetis MCUs is based on featuring a small number of the ARM ecosystem's professional IDEs to provide our customers with best in class development options today and in the future," said JC Bodet, Freescale's director of microcontroller software and services.
"We are absolutely delighted to have TrueSTUDIO selected by Freescale as a featured IDE for Kinetis devices," comments Magnus Unemyr, vice president of sales and marketing, Atollic. "We are fully committed to supporting Freescale's Kinetis MCU product roadmap and firmly believe that Atollic TrueSTUDIO offers the best way for developers to 'future proof' their development investment."
Dan Mender, vice president of business development, Green Hills Software, noted: "The Kinetis MCUs/Green Hills combination delivers unparalleled capabilities in securing IoT devices on the edge."
Stefan Skarin, CEO of IAR Systems, added: "Our established relationship with Freescale and our product integration continue to provide embedded designers with efficient tools for peak results with the powerful Kinetis MCUs."
The tools will be complemented by Freescale's Kinetis Design Studio, which is currently in beta testing, the MQX RTOS and Freescale's Tower System development platform.
