GUI development tools for embedded devices
A suite of GUI development tools optimised for embedded devices has been launced by Blue Water Embedded. Called Prism, the software is intended to support the development of eye catching interfaces for resource constrained devices.
Prism is comprised of: the fully featured Prism Runtime Framework; Prism Micro, a GUI toolkit for monochrome to 8bit colour depth targets; and Prism Insight, a desktop GUI design and resource editing tool. The complete framework and toolset automates the design and deployment of advanced graphical interfaces for embedded systems, incorporating a high performance graphical drawing library and a GUI widget set.
Prism Runtime Framework delivers the functionality needed for interactive devices, while Prism Micro has been tailored to meet the requirements of cost constrained, lower colour depth targets. Prism Insight, meanwhile, enables user interfaces to be developed in a drag and drop WYSIWYG environment.
