Harwin invests £1m in state of the art connector facility
Portsmouth based connector specialist Harwin has invested more than £1million in new manufacturing equipment.
The company has bought two new Arburg electronic moulding machines, which are currently being employed to ramp up production of its new 1.25mm pitch Gecko connector family.
It has also purchased EDM wire erosion, hole drilling and die sinking machinery from AgieCharmilles, a MAST 3 wetting balancing machine and substantial amounts of tooling.
Harwin's chairman Damon De Laszlo, pictured, said the investment was part of the company's plan to keep all manufacturing stages under one roof.
"It is only by keeping all manufacturing stages under our control here in Portsmouth that we will be able to constantly innovate and deliver new, high quality products to the market," he commented.
