High side power switch features enhanced robustness, advanced protection
Diodes' new 1A single channel integrated high side power switch is optimised to deliver enhanced robustness and advanced protection for the usb interface in a multitude of applications.
Fully compliant with usb 2.0 and 3.0 standards, the AP2337 is designed for use in traditional computing devices such as desktops, servers, laptops, monitors and network routers, as well as home entertainment equipment such as hd set top boxes and flat screen hd tvs.
The switch is optimised for both self powered and bus powered applications, and other 3 to 5V 'hot swapping' applications where peripherals or portable gadgets are connected to, and disconnected from, a desktop or laptop computer without requiring a system reboot.
Protection capabilities include a short circuit response time of 5µs, built in output discharge functionality, a low on resistance of 110mO over 1A continuous load and output over voltage protection. The device is available in an SOT23 package and offers 3kV HBM and 300V MM ESD protection.
