Iceotope secures £6m for liquid-cooled server tech
Iceotope, the UK start up specialising in liquid-cooled server technology, has raised $10million (£6.10m) in a series A funding round.
The investment was led by Aster Capital, an international venture capital firm specialising in clean tech, alongside UK investment company Ombu Group.
The money will be used to commercialise Iceotope's innovative cooling technology for the data centre and high performance computing (HPC) markets.
Iceotope also plans to hire more staff, expand into new geographies and address more ambitious supercomputing projects.
"This really is the deal of the century for us" said company founder and ceo, Peter Hopton. "As a start up in the north of England, it's fantastic that our technology has attracted the investment of an international consortium.
"We strongly believe that our technology has the potential to revolutionise the HPC and data centre industry."
