IE patch on the way
Microsoft has announced that it will release a patch for the Internet Explorer security threat currently affecting a quarter of all web users.
All versions of IE are at risk and up to 10,000 users have already been affected, primarily in Asia where the malicious software goes after passwords for computer games. However, experts warn that more serious threats could emerge and although Microsoft has managed to devise an epithet for the flaw – ‘data binding memory corruption vulnerability’ – it has yet to deliver a solution. It was originally announced that the 'critical' update would be available at 1pm today. However, Microsoft now states that the patch will not be ready until 5pm at the earliest.
