Imaging quality boosted
The PTX8202 microwave power module (MPM) from TMD Technologies is providing power for the X-band synthetic aperture radar system for ground mapping developed by EADS Astrium.

Operating between 9 and 10.7GHz, with a continuous wave output of up to 110W, the unit features ultra low noise, allowing better quality images to be produced.
Martin Cohen, head of radar demonstrators for EADS Astrium, said: "We will shortly be carrying out further intensive flight trials, and so far the MPM has worked perfectly."
