Industry’s fastest logic analyser?

Agilent Technologies has introduced what it claims to be the industry's fastest logic analyser.
The U4154A module combines a state capture speed of 4Gb/s on 68 channels and 2.5Gb/s on 136 channels. It is designed to capture data on what Agilent says are the industry's smallest eye openings of 100ps by 100mV.
"These capabilities allow engineers to measure the increasingly fast digital signals used in emerging technologies and validate and troubleshoot their designs with confidence," said Ross Nelson, general manager of Agilent's Digital Debug Solutions product line.
The AXIe based logic analyser module is also designed to provide capabilities for engineers working with ddr memory systems, high speed application specific integrated chips, analogue to digital converters and fpga's operating at speeds up to 4Gb/s.
As well as an eye scan capability, which allows designers to obtain a quick overview of signal integrity on all signals of a ddr system, a timing zoom has been integrated to provide simultaneous state and timing measurements with 80/s timing resolution and 256 K-sample memory depth. This allows simultaneous state and high resolution timing measurements over a 20us time span.
The U4154A also features a trigger sequencer speed of 2.5Gb/s, which Agilent claims is the industry's fastest.
"This new module delivers on the AXIe standard's promise to enable unprecedented performance in an open, modular form factor," concluded Nelson. "This introduction highlights Agilent's commitment to growing its AXIe solutions portfolio, to enable measurement in several domains, such as high speed logic and protocols."
