‘Industry's first’ digital low power panel meters from Murata
The new ACM20-2-AC1-R-C and ACM20-2-AC1-R-F-C models from Murata Power Solutuions are claimed to be the 'industry's first' digital ac power panel meters with measurement resolution of 0.001A and 0.1W. According to Murata, the increased resolution makes them particularly suitable for test and instrumentation applications and for testing a variety of low current ac powered products.
The models are part of the company's ACM20 series of four function ac power meters and are designed to display the most critical measurements in mains powered equipment such as voltage, current, watts and either power factor or frequency, depending on the model.
A front panel selector switch has been implemented to provide two modes of operation; a fixed reading of any of the four parameters, or a continuous cycling through all four measurements. Murata claims the device's are unlike other products on the market in that they can accurately display the real power and true rms current values of triangle waves, square waves, and other irregularly shaped waveforms, with a typical accuracy of ±1% of full scale.
