Infineon positive about 2014 despite weak Q1 sales
Despite a decline in Q1 sales, Infineon expects 7 to 11% growth this year.
The company's Q1 revenue amounted to €984million, 7% down on the €1.53billion recorded in Q4.
"Infineon has made a good start into the new fiscal year," noted ceo Dr Reinhard Ploss. "Revenue has developed in line with forecasts during the first quarter and earnings were better than expected."
Dr Ploss said good order intake and positive forecasts for the global economy underpinned the company's outlook.
"Infineon is poised to profitably grow in 2014," he concluded.
