The investment will support two projects. The first is a hardware project involving advanced 32nm silicon design and validation. The deliverable will be a chip for embedded applications said to feature a ‘significantly improved design’. The second project is a software development project, extending Intel’s QuickAssist technology.
Jim O’Hara, general manager of Intel Ireland and vice president of its technology manufacturing group, said: “In our highly competitive and rapidly changing global markets … establishing a high performing team with strong technical, managerial and leadership skills is critical to being able to build new products that lead in the marketplace.”
