Intel's next generation Ivy Bridge processors could debut in April 2012, according to a CPU World report.
Although the website doesn't cite particular sources, it claims that 'new information' has been received. According to this information, the 22nm processors, which were originally due to be launched in Q1, have been delayed due to weak pc demand and production problems.
The site says that the launch will include third generation Core i5 and Core i7 desktop products, along with Core i7 mobile chips. These will be followed by i3 and i5 mobile microprocessors later in the year.
According to www.zol.com.cn, there will be new model numbers of the 3000 series of Core i5 and i7 processors, whereby the '2' will be replaced by a '3' with 50 added. This means that the Core i5-2400 would be taken over by the Core i5-3450. The site adds that the new 'S' models will appear with an extra 300MHz.
