Intel partners with Arduino on Quark based Galileo board
Intel has unveiled a low cost, single board computer for the 'maker' and education communities.
Called Galileo, the open source board packs a 32bit Quark SoC X1000 cpu, which offers a clock speed of 400MHz.
It also supports Linux OS and the Arduino development environment, as well as standard data transfer and networking interfaces such as PCI-Express, Ethernet and USB 2.0.
Intel hopes the maker community will use the board to build prototypes and debug devices.
Galileo is set for general release in November and will cost $60 (approx. £37).
