Lime tapes out next gen FPRF transceiver chip
Transceiver chip firm Lime Microsystems has taped out its second generation device, the LMS7002M.
The FPRF transceiver chip relies on 65nm CMOS technology to reduce the cost of FPRF transceiver technology and lower power consumption. It also integrates 2x2 MIMO functionality for extended spectrum coverage.
The LMS7002M supports all cellular standards and frequencies, including 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE and their TDD/FDD variants.
Other features include an 8051 microcontroller, DSP functions, multiple 12bit A/D converters and D/A converters, LNAs, filters, PLLs and mixers.
The LMS7002M has a low frequency operational range down to 50MHz (previously 300MHz) supported by the first generation LMS6002D.
This gives it a continuous operational spectrum of 50MHz to 3.8GHz.
