Low power consumption from National
A new nanopower operational amplifier from National Semiconductor is said to provide the industry's 'lowest power consumption' at 552nW.
National says that the PowerWise LPV521 has guaranteed operation down to 1.6V and can extend battery life in a range of portable equipment and low power applications.
The LPV521 features a supply voltage range from 1.6 to 5.5V with a maximum supply current of 0.4uA. Its input common mode voltage range accepts input signals 100 mV beyond each rail, enabling direct connection to several sensor types.
According to National, it is the world's only nanopower op amp equipped with emi suppression filters to reduce unwanted rf interference from external sources, such as cell phones, motion sensors and rfid readers.
