Maxim launches obsolescence mitigation programme
Maxim Integrated Products has introduced a new obsolescence mitigation (OM) programme to minimise the impact of IC device obsolescence on long term military/aerospace programmes.
The programme has been set up to ensure a future supply of commercial off the shelf (cots) plastic parts. According to the mixed signal IC specialist, it requires a collaborative effort between the customer and Maxim's Mil/Aero group, and becomes available when a part is announced as becoming obsolete. Maxim will then work with the customer to set aside wafers to support the obsolescence of any cots plastic part.
