Medical market targeted
LynuxWorks has announced that its LynxSecure 2.0 separation kernel and embedded hypervisor is now available for use on Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor range.
In particular, the company is looking at growing demand for portable medical devices.
Robert Day, vp marketing, said the company has been looking at the medical sector for the last couple of years. “We’ve been looking at where the technology will fit in other markets and it fits well into medical market, which has the potential to grow quickly.”
Day noted that medical data and information was beginning to be shared between systems and that would require more secure systems than are in place today.
* Meanwhile, LynuxWorks has joined EEMBC’s Hypervisor subcommittee, which has elected Arun Subbarao, the company’s vp of engineering, as its chair.
”Hypervisors are rapidly growing in popularity,” said EEMBC president Markus Levy. “Having the participation of the technical experts of LynuxWorks will help to ensure a robust and fair hypervisor benchmark suite.”
