Microchip debuts first MOST150 interface controller
The OS81118 is the first ic to come out of Microchip's MOST150 intelligent network interface controller family.
The device integrates a coax transceiver, optical physical layer and usb 2.0 high speed device port.
According to Microchip, it enables simplified in-car mobile and Wi-Fi connectivity for MOST infotainment networks.
It also allows the latest multi core consumer SoCs to be connected to in-vehicle MOST networks.
Sampling now, the OS81118 is offered in a 72pin QFN package and is expected to be available for volume production in January 2014.
